The aims of the Reception are to foster and develop a joy of learning in young children. To provide quality learning experiences for all the children. Learning which is structured, using the Concrete (practical experiences) Pictorial (pictures that cannot be moved) and Abstract (words and mental imagery). We provide a
balanced, relevant curriculum to the children, relating to the real world. We aim to provide a bright, stimulating and secure environment which promotes active learning.
we provide a curriculum which takes account of, and responds to, the children’s developmental needs and allows them to make progress related to their differing abilities. “What the child can do” will be our starting point.
We ensure the children have positive experiences of success at their own levels now, in order to give them confidence and motivation for learning in the future.
The Reception provides a curriculum which promotes the ‘Early Learning Goals’ identified by the Qualifications and Curriculum Authority and which dovetails with the National Curriculum.
We seek to provide a curriculum which provides equal learning and development opportunities for all the children within the foundation stage, creating a partnership with parents to support and enhance the development of the children, in a safe and friendly environment.
