Year 3 sees the transition from Year 2 to Year 3 and also from KS1 to KS2. Children will continue to develop their knowledge, understanding and vocabulary through the consolidation of previous learning and the development of new learning and skills. Children are taught new skills and learn how to apply these to a range of different concepts. The curriculum is Year 3 is taught through a very discussion based and practical approach, providing the children with the core foundations on which they build throughout the year. Children are then encouraged to develop thinking at a deeper level by using reasoning and problem solving skills.
Throughout the year, we encourage children to become more independent both personally and academically. We promote positive attitudes to learning and encourage children to develop their self confidence. Children are also supported in developing their own opinions and ideas whilst meeting the very high expectations of the year group.
